E.A. Sween Recalls Deli Express BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches Over Plastic Contamination

Federal inspectors say plastic pieces came from barbecue sauce bottles used in production.

Overview

  • USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said more than 125,000 pounds of the product are being recalled under establishment number EST. 2451.
  • The affected sandwiches were sold from January 16 to October 23, 2025 across the continental U.S., Hawaii and Guam through convenience, grocery and mass retail outlets, with shipments also noted to the Department of Defense.
  • Retailers were directed to pull the identified items from shelves and inventory immediately, and consumers are advised not to eat the product and to return it for a refund.
  • The FDA alert provides identification details, including UPC 0-41433-13087-2 and a list of specific lot codes, to help consumers and stores verify affected packages.
  • Authorities report no injuries or illnesses to date, though the plastic fragments are considered a choking hazard.
