EA Launches The Sims 4 Marketplace for Paid Creator Content on March 17

Approved creators will earn about 30% of each sale through a reviewed in-game storefront that uses a new Moola currency.

Overview

  • Maker Program applications open March 5 with requirements including being 18 or older, English communication, residence in a non-embargoed region, an account in good standing, and a two-asset technical evaluation.
  • Purchases use Moola bought in bundles ranging from 200 for $2.49 to 5,500 for $49.99, and creators earn $0.30 per 100 Moola spent.
  • EA will provide a Maker Suite, cover publishing overhead such as platform fees and taxes, and human-review listings, while Makers set pack prices within guidelines.
  • Content listed for sale in the Marketplace cannot be available elsewhere, though free or early-access releases can continue on external platforms under EA’s mod policy.
  • Official Kits move to the Marketplace as Moola-only purchases, with console support to follow in the coming months to bring sanctioned custom content to PlayStation and Xbox.
