Overview

  • Tests on Tuesday showed E. coli levels rated “good” to “excellent” under World Aquatics and WHO standards
  • The men’s 10km is scheduled for 1pm and the women’s for 4pm on July 16
  • Initial tests on July 13 revealed E. coli levels above the 250 cfu/100 ml threshold, triggering the postponement of the women’s race originally set for July 15
  • The postponement and subsequent clearance for racing followed joint reviews by World Aquatics, the Singapore 2025 Organising Committee and its Sports Medicine and Open Water Technical committees
  • The championships feature six aquatic disciplines and more than 2,500 athletes from over 200 countries competing in Singapore
