E-Bike Rider Sprays Fire Extinguisher, Injures 5-Month-Old in Sippy Downs

Discharged from hospital for monitoring, Pixie Teasdale remains under observation as police seek witnesses to identify the e-bike rider.

Overview

  • On June 15 at around 7:45pm in Sippy Downs, an e-bike rider sprayed fire extinguisher powder through a car window into the back seat where Pixie Teasdale was seated.
  • Doctors treated Pixie overnight with 100 millilitres of saline in her eyes and she has since been discharged under observation for facial redness, swollen eyes and mild wheezing.
  • Queensland Police have launched investigations into this incident and a similar fire extinguisher attack at an Indian restaurant the previous evening.
  • Investigators recovered the discarded extinguisher on a nearby street and are urging residents with CCTV or dashcam footage between 7:30pm and 8:20pm to come forward.
  • A local car detailing business has offered to clean the family’s vehicle free of charge after the interior and baby’s belongings were blanketed in corrosive powder.
