Overview

• Maruti Suzuki Dzire led decisively with 16,509 units in August 2025, surpassing the combined sales of every other sedan.
• Total sedan dispatches were 28,451 units, rising 15.01% year on year but falling 14.51% from July.
• Hyundai Aura ranked second with 5,336 units, followed by Honda Amaze (1,753), Volkswagen Virtus (1,674) and Skoda Slavia (1,008).
• The month-on-month decline was driven largely by lower Dzire and Honda City volumes, with City at 437 units and Hyundai Verna at 771.
• Portfolio churn continued as Maruti Ciaz recorded zero sales after discontinuation and Skoda reported no Superb dispatches, with an Octavia RS launch prepared for October, while analysts expect GST 2.0 to favor hatchbacks and entry SUVs more than sedans.
