Overview

  • Dresden suffered its first preseason defeat on July 13, falling 4–2 to Slavia Prague after a goalless first half gave way to four second-half goals against them.
  • Former Dynamo forward Vasil Kusej broke the deadlock in the 47th minute and helped set up further strikes by David Doudera, Divine Teah and Daiki Hashioka.
  • Nils Fröling and Friedrich Müller added late goals in the 80th and 84th minutes to reduce the deficit.
  • Stamm attributed the collapse to lapses in duels and defensive coverage and intends to address those issues immediately in training.
  • The squad will return to training ahead of Volkswagen Cup friendlies against FSV Zwickau and VfL Wolfsburg as final tune-ups for the August 3 2. Bundesliga opener.
