Dynamo Dresden Appeals DFB Sanctions to Permanent Arbitration Court

The club has asked the Ständiges Schiedsgericht to suspend enforcement of a one-match standing-block closure while the appeal is decided, a move that will determine whether fans can attend the next home game.

Overview

  • Dynamo filed its appeal on Monday and formally requested an Aussetzung der Vollstreckung, with the tribunal expected to rule on a temporary stay as soon as Tuesday.
  • The punishment under challenge was confirmed by the DFB-Bundesgericht and requires the closure of the K-Block for the next home match, a second match suspended on probation until 30 June 2027, plus a €91,200 fine.
  • The sanctions stem from violent incidents at the April 4 home game against Hertha BSC, which included mass pitch entries, pyrotechnics fired at people, a 19-minute match suspension, police intervention, and at least 17 injuries.
  • DFB leaders have publicly condemned the fan conduct, with Bundesgericht chairman Oskar Riedmeyer saying fireworks fired at people and pitch invasions are intolerable and justify intervention.
  • If the tribunal does not order a stay, thousands of standing-ticket holders may be barred from the upcoming match and the club will need to decide whether sold K-Block tickets remain valid or are refunded, a test case for how quickly DFB sanctions take effect during appeals.
