DWP’s £10 Christmas Bonus Set for Early December Payouts

Eligible pension and disability claimants will be paid automatically during the December 1–7 qualifying week.

Overview

  • The one-off, tax-free £10 payment will land in accounts automatically with the reference “XB” or “DWP XB.”
  • Eligibility depends on receiving specific benefits during the qualifying week and being ordinarily resident in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Gibraltar.
  • Qualifying benefits include State Pension, Personal Independence Payment, Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance and Pension Credit, while Universal Credit alone does not qualify.
  • Payments due on Christmas Day or Boxing Day are expected to arrive on December 24, with final dates to be confirmed by the DWP closer to the time.
  • The bonus has remained £10 since 1972 despite inflation, and anyone who believes they qualify but does not receive it should contact Jobcentre Plus or the Pension Service.
