Overview
- People who believe they qualify but have not received the bonus by 1 January are advised to contact Jobcentre Plus or the Pension Service immediately.
- The Christmas Bonus is a one-off, tax-free £10 payment that does not affect other benefits and is paid into the same account as regular benefit payments.
- The payment is scheduled for the first full week of December, and this year many DWP payments due on 25–26 December were brought forward to 24 December.
- Eligibility requires receiving a qualifying benefit during the first full week of December and being ordinarily resident in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Gibraltar.
- Couples can each receive the payment if both meet the qualifying conditions, with limited scenarios allowing a partner to qualify through Pension Credit rules.
