Overview
- Payments due Saturday 23 to Monday 25 August will be paid on Friday 22 August across the UK, covering both DWP and HMRC-administered support.
- Affected entitlements include Universal Credit, State Pension, PIP, Pension Credit, Child Benefit and Tax Credits, while payments due on other dates are unchanged.
- The amounts stay the same unless a claimant’s circumstances have changed, and recipients should budget for a longer gap until the next instalment.
- If an expected early payment does not arrive, claimants should check their usual date, contact their bank, then reach the DWP via their online account or helpline, which is closed on bank holidays.
- The early-payment policy moves any holiday or weekend due date to the previous working day, a practice also scheduled to bring December 25–26 payments forward to December 24.
