DWP Confirms £10 Christmas Bonus for Eligible Claimants in Early December

Only recipients of specified benefits during the 1–7 December qualifying week meet the residency-based criteria.

Overview

  • The one-off, tax-free payment is made automatically, appears on statements as “DWP XB,” and does not affect other benefits.
  • Qualifying benefits include the State Pension, Pension Credit (guarantee element), Personal Independence Payment, Disability Living Allowance and Attendance Allowance, among others.
  • People who receive only Universal Credit are not eligible, and those who have not claimed their State Pension must be on another qualifying benefit to receive the bonus.
  • Eligibility requires being present or ordinarily resident in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Gibraltar during the qualifying week, with specific partner rules allowing some couples to receive £10 each or for a non-qualifying partner to be covered in limited cases.
  • Recipients who do not see the payment by January 1 or who receive it twice are advised to contact Jobcentre Plus or the Pension Service.
