DWP Confirms £10 Christmas Bonus for December, With Universal Credit Alone Not Eligible

Payments will be automatic for people on a qualifying benefit during the first full week of December.

Overview

  • The one‑off £10 payment will show on bank statements as “DWP XB.”
  • To qualify, claimants must be present or ordinarily resident in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Gibraltar during the qualifying week.
  • Universal Credit on its own does not qualify a household, so recipients must also receive a listed benefit to get the bonus.
  • Qualifying benefits include the State Pension, Personal Independence Payment, Attendance Allowance, Carer’s Allowance and other disability and war pension-related payments.
  • Those who believe they qualify but do not receive the payment should contact Jobcentre Plus or The Pension Service.
