Overview

  • Payments scheduled for Saturday 23, Sunday 24 and Monday 25 August 2025 will be made on Friday 22 August across the UK, with Scotland following the same principle.
  • The adjustment covers all major entitlements, including Universal Credit, State Pension, Child Benefit, Personal Independence Payment, Disability Living Allowance, Carer’s Allowance and Attendance Allowance.
  • HMRC‑managed payments such as Child Benefit are included in the same early‑payment timetable.
  • Minister for Social Security and Disability Sir Stephen Timms said bringing payments forward ensures support is in place and helps families prepare for the new school year.
  • Personal finance guidance urges checking bank accounts by midday Friday and contacting the relevant benefits line before 5pm if a payment has not arrived, while cautioning against overspending or missing Direct Debits after the early date.
