Overview
- The qualifying week is normally the first full week of December, with the £10 credited before Christmas.
- Eligibility requires presence or ordinary residence in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Gibraltar during that week.
- Twenty-four benefits qualify, including State Pension, PIP, DLA, Attendance Allowance and Carer’s Allowance.
- No application is needed, couples who both qualify each receive £10, and those missing it by January 1 should contact Jobcentre Plus or the Pension Service.
- A petition is calling for the bonus to be increased to about £180 to reflect inflation.
