- DVLA and the BVRLA launched a voluntary, anonymous survey closing July 17 to gather insights from motorists and businesses on digital licence verification
- The digital Driving Licence will arrive in the GOV.UK Wallet by year-end as an optional companion to the physical photocard licence
- GOV.UK Wallet features will include single sign-on, tax reminders, a generative AI chatbot and a personalised homepage for users
- A partnership with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology will extend the Wallet to veteran cards, DBS checks and other government credentials
- This rollout follows the government’s January announcement of a unified digital ID strategy to modernize public-service documents
