- DVLA began processing applications from Moldovan nationals under the new licence-exchange scheme on August 1
- The reciprocal deal removes theory and practical tests for licence swaps between the UK and Moldova
- To qualify, applicants must have become UK residents within the past five years under DVLA rules
- The arrangement follows last week’s memorandum of understanding signed by Transport Minister Lilian Greenwood and Moldovan Ambassador Ruslan Bolbocean
- Around 18,000 eligible Moldovan residents are expected to benefit from the streamlined exchange process
