Dutch Far-Right Leader Assaulted Ahead of Election

Thierry Baudet, the leader of the far-right Forum for Democracy (FvD) party in the Netherlands, was assaulted with a beer bottle during a campaign event in Groningen, two days before the national election.
The assault resulted in minor injuries for Baudet, who was treated at a hospital by a trauma surgeon. A security guard was also injured during the incident.
The attacker was arrested, and the motive is currently under investigation.
This is the second assault on Baudet in recent weeks, following an incident in Ghent, Belgium, where he was hit over the head with an umbrella.
The FvD, known for its Euro-sceptic, Dutch nationalist, and anti-immigration stance, is predicted to win between three and five seats in the upcoming 150-member Dutch parliament election.
