Dussehra Burnings Across Noida and Tricity Feature Giant Effigies, New Political Symbolism

  • In Noida’s Sector 62, 70–65–60 ft effigies of Ravana, Kumbhkaran and Meghnath will burn from 7 pm alongside three 10 ft figures symbolizing women’s oppression, inflation and Pakistan state-sponsored terrorism.
  • At Noida Stadium in Sector 21A, the Shri Sanatan Dharm Ramlila Committee plans 80–75–65 ft effigies with a green fireworks display scheduled for 8 pm.
  • Noida Traffic Police announced closures around the stadium, restricting movement from Sector 12/22 crossing, Sector 10/21 U-turn and Sector 31/25, with diversions via Jalvayu Vihar, Nithari, NTPC and Gijhor.
  • Panchkula’s Shalimar Ground will light the tricity’s tallest Ravana at 180 ft flanked by 100 ft figures at 6:15 pm, with Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini as chief guest and organisers citing costs of about ₹25 lakh for effigies.
  • Over 90 venues across Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula have advisories for parking, timed road closures and police presence, including 715 officers in Panchkula and city hotspots such as Chandigarh’s Sector 17 and Sector 46.
