'Dune: Prophecy' Renewed for Season 2 on HBO

The prequel series exploring the origins of the Bene Gesserit will continue following its successful first season finale.

HBO has officially announced the renewal of 'Dune: Prophecy' for a second season, just days before the Season 1 finale airs on December 22.
The series, set 10,000 years before the events of the Dune films, focuses on the formation of the Bene Gesserit through the story of two Harkonnen sisters, played by Emily Watson and Olivia Williams.
Season 2 is expected to delve deeper into the evolution of the Bene Gesserit and expand on the power struggles among key characters, including rival Desmond Hart, portrayed by Travis Fimmel.
The show, inspired by the novel 'Sisterhood of Dune' by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, has drawn mixed critical reception but garnered significant viewership, with its premiere episode reaching 15 million viewers globally.
Showrunner Alison Schapker and the creative team plan to further explore the complex dynamics and history of the Dune universe in collaboration with the Herbert estate and Legendary Television.
