Duisburg Weekend: Motor Show, Family Festival, Cleanup, Concerts and Art

Overview

  • The two-day “Duisburg in Lack und Chrom” runs Saturday and Sunday on Königstraße from 11:00 to 18:00, showcasing new models, e-cars, scooters, classic vehicles and a Formula E race car on Sunday.
  • City-center shops plan a verkaufsoffener Sonntag from 13:00 to 18:00, the first since April, scheduled to coincide with the motor show under North Rhine-Westphalia’s Ladenöffnungsgesetz.
  • The Jugendamt’s family festival takes over the Innenhafen on Sunday from 11:00 to 18:00 with more than 90 activity and information stands featuring workshops, performances and attractions for children.
  • For World Cleanup Day, volunteers will clear litter from the Sonnenwall on Saturday from 12:00 to 14:30, meeting at Buchhandlung Scheuermann, Sonnenwall 45, at 12:00 with equipment provided on site.
  • The art exhibition “Kaminski und seine Freunde” opens with a Friday 18:00 vernissage at the Kulturkirche Liebfrauenkirche and runs Sept. 20 to Oct. 10, while live music includes Guildo Horn at Steinhof on Friday 20:00 and the Horst Hansen Trio in Ruhrort on Sunday evening with voluntary admission.
