Overview

• The third Weiße Riese tower in Duisburg-Hochheide is scheduled for explosive demolition at 12:00 PM on July 27, 2025.
• Approximately 2,200 residents across Glückaufstraße, Hanielstraße, Kirchstraße, Moerser Straße, Ottostraße and Prinzenstraße must vacate their homes by 8:00 AM on the day of the blast.
• Evacuees will be housed at the Erich-Kästner-Gesamtschule, with shuttle buses running from designated pickup points starting at 5:30 AM.
• Starting at 8:00 AM, Moerser Straße, Ottostraße, Husemannstraße will be closed; an absolute parking ban will apply throughout the evacuation zone.
• Thüringer Spreng GmbH will carry out the explosion under the oversight of Stadt Duisburg and emergency services, and the event will be broadcast live on WDR for observers outside the restricted area.
