• Traffic cameras captured two adult ducks and five ducklings crossing multiple northbound lanes near the Canning Highway exit around 8am.
• Several vehicles stopped and some people exited their cars to try to shepherd the birds off the roadway.
• A six-car collision occurred further south soon after, with police reporting no injuries.
• Main Roads said the ducks were removed by 8:35am, although significant delays continued afterward.
• Authorities cautioned that they cannot confirm the ducks caused the crash and noted this was the second straight day of similar disruption at the same location.
