• The updated Scam Blocker now detects and blocks fake e-commerce storefronts, scam investment and cryptocurrency trading sites, survey scams, scareware and malvertising.
• URLs are scanned locally against a Netcraft-maintained threat list that refreshes every 20 minutes, with rare or unknown sites verified through a privacy-preserving cryptographic check.
• The feature is enabled by default in DuckDuckGo’s browser and requires no user account to function effectively.
• Unlike browsers that rely on Google Safe Browsing, Scam Blocker operates without sharing browsing data with third parties.
