Overview
- Ducati announced the Desmo250 MX as a purpose-built MX2 motocross model that reuses the Desmo450 MX’s chassis, electronics and overall architecture to speed development and setup.
- The engine is a new 249cc liquid-cooled single that uses Ducati’s desmodromic valve actuation, makes a claimed 44.5 hp and is designed to rev to 15,000 rpm for race-oriented power delivery.
- Electronics include two engine maps, three traction-control settings, three launch-control settings and two engine-brake levels that riders can adjust through Ducati’s X-Link app, plus a predictive maintenance algorithm.
- Race-grade hardware features an aluminium perimeter frame and swingarm, fully adjustable Showa suspension with Kashima coating, Brembo calipers with Galfer discs and Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tyres.
- Ducati plans a phased commercial rollout with sales in selected European markets starting in July 2026 and North American deliveries from August 2026 while India availability remains unannounced, reflecting the brand’s ongoing move from road sportbikes into off-road competition.
