Dubai RTA Raises App Taxi Fares to Dh13 Minimum With Time-of-Day Pricing

Variable hourly flagfall with surcharges now applies, with per‑kilometre, Salik, waiting fees determining the final fare.

  • Changes apply only to rides booked via Careem or S’hail, while street‑hailed taxis keep existing tariffs.
  • The minimum fare for app bookings increases to Dh13 from Dh12, as announced by the Roads and Transport Authority.
  • From Monday to Thursday, peak windows run 8:00–9:59 and 16:00–19:59 with a Dh5 flagfall plus a Dh7.50 peak surcharge.
  • Friday peak runs 8:00–9:59 and 16:00–21:59, and weekends add a 22:00–23:59 slot with a Dh5.50 night flagfall on top of the Dh7.50 peak fee; off‑peak periods carry a Dh5 flagfall and Dh4 surcharge, with night hours (00:00–05:59) set at Dh5.50 flagfall and Dh4.50 surcharge.
  • Dubai Taxi Company lists a per‑kilometre rate of Dh2.26 for these bookings, Salik tolls at Dh5 per gate, and waiting time at Dh0.5 per minute.
