Overview
- The project spans both directions between Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Ras Al Khor Road on Al Warqa’a 1 Street.
- Four roundabouts were converted into smart signalised intersections, which RTA says improved traffic flow by up to 30 percent.
- The package includes 6,600 metres of stormwater drainage to bolster rain preparedness, 324 lighting poles, 111 parking spaces, and 41,000 square metres of pedestrian pathways.
- RTA says the works build on June 2025 upgrades that added direct access from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and improved traffic on 13th Street.
- Internal network upgrades continue in Al Warqa’a 3 and 4, with residents briefed in October on Metro Blue Line progress and planned traffic diversions.
