Dubai Raises App-Booked Taxi Minimum Fare to Dh13 and Introduces Peak Pricing

The change applies only to Careem and S’hail bookings, leaving street-hail fares unchanged.

Overview

  • RTA’s new fare structure applies exclusively to smart-app rides and took effect with Wednesday’s announcement.
  • Minimum fare for app-booked taxis increases to Dh13 from Dh12.
  • On Monday to Thursday, peak windows run 8–9:59am and 4–7:59pm with a Dh5 flagfall plus a Dh7.50 peak surcharge.
  • Off-peak and night pricing include a Dh5 flagfall with a Dh4 surcharge off-peak, and a Dh5.50 flagfall with a Dh4.50 surcharge from 12–5:59am.
  • Weekend schedules differ, with Saturday–Sunday peaks at 4–9:59pm and 10–11:59pm, and distance and ancillary fees set at Dh2.26 per km, Dh5 per Salik gate, and Dh0.50 per minute of waiting.
