Overview
- RTA opened the first phase on a 4.5 km stretch between Al Khail Road and Sheikh Zayed Road.
- The corridor now features four lanes in each direction with new bridges at Al Asayel Street, First Al Khail Street, and Sheikh Zayed Road.
- Officials said remaining road works, intersection upgrades, and active-mobility elements are slated to finish by Q2 2026.
- The completed scheme will raise throughput from roughly 8,000 to 16,000 vehicles per hour across Hessa Street.
- A 13.5 km cycling and e-scooter track will link Al Sufouh to Dubai Hills via dedicated bridges, serving fast-growing areas including Al Sufouh 2, Al Barsha, and Jumeirah Village Circle.
