Overview
- Overall completion has reached 12% after more than 4.6 million working hours, according to an RTA progress review.
- More than 3,000 workers, supervised by 500 engineers and specialists, are active across 12 sites under a consortium led by MAPA, Limak and CRRC Hong Kong.
- RTA reaffirmed the Sept. 9, 2029 launch date during the regularly convened Blue Line Forum chaired by Mattar Al Tayer.
- The 30 km corridor with 14 stations will link the Red and Green Lines, serve areas projected to host around one million people by 2040 and offer 20-minute trips to Dubai International Airport.
- A first-of-its-kind setup for an RTA rail project includes two on-site ready-mix batching plants and precast facilities in Al Ruwayyah 3 and International City, with daily output of viaduct segments and tunnel rings to speed construction.
