DU Mop-Up Admissions Start With Weak Day-One Uptake, Thousands of UG Seats Still Vacant

The in-person mop-up uses Class 12 marks to fill thousands of lingering undergraduate vacancies.

Overview

  • Only 73 BA Honours seats were taken on the first day, after about 876 invitees were called for roughly 1,700 seats.
  • University officials say around 7,000–7,500 seats remain open across colleges, including an estimated 2,000 for PwD candidates.
  • The physical on-the-spot round runs September 23–29, and any seats left after the window closes will not be filled this session.
  • Allocations are based on Class 12 results rather than CUET scores, are final with no upgrades or withdrawals, and require immediate online fee payment.
  • Participation is by invitation only for candidates not admitted elsewhere, with original documents required and no representatives allowed for entry to the Multipurpose Hall.
