DTM Sticks to Eight-Event 2027 Calendar

ADAC says venue limits and team cost objections justify halting international expansion.

Overview

  • The DTM presented its 2027 calendar on Thursday, August 13, 2026, confirming eight race weekends with the season opening at Red Bull Ring (April 23–25) and the finale at Hockenheim (October 8–10).
  • Oschersleben and Zandvoort swap places on the schedule so Oschersleben moves to May 7–9 and Zandvoort to August 6–8, while Lausitzring remains the third round despite planned renovations.
  • ADAC said it could not secure overseas circuits that guarantee spectator interest and that teams pushed back on the extra travel and cost, so organisers chose to keep the established eight-venue model.
  • Reporters mapped the calendar against other series and found clashes with World Endurance Championship rounds at Silverstone and Fuji, the IGTC eight-hour in Austin, two Formula E dates and IMSA’s Petit Le Mans, which will limit drivers trying to run parallel GT, endurance or Formula E programs.
  • ADAC points to a 13% increase in spectators at the first five events this year as evidence the current model is working, a factor that plus Formula 1 vacating its Zandvoort summer date shaped the final 2027 lineup and could delay any future overseas expansion.
