Overview
- German sport director Horst Hüttel called the Predazzo normal hill “not well executed” and said FIS should reassess hill construction guidelines.
- He proposed flattening the schanzentisch by about 0.5 degrees to soften the flight trajectory and lower landing forces.
- Hüttel also urged safety-focused adjustments for women, such as enlarging suit volume or modifying stride-length rules, and said action should not be delayed.
- FIS’s autumn session is underway with competition regulations on the agenda following the injuries to Alexandria Loutitt, Eva Pinkelnig and Haruka Kasai.
- Former champion Martin Schmitt cited higher landing pressure and a steeper flight curve at Predazzo, questioned the Telemark landing as unsafe, and noted women’s higher baseline ACL risk.
