Drunk Semi-Truck Driver Charged in Crash That Killed 7 Farmworkers

The driver of a semi-truck that crashed into a van parked on the side of an Oregon highway, killing 7 farmworkers and injuring 4 others, was charged with DUI and manslaughter, according to police.
The victims were agricultural workers of Mexican nationality traveling in a van.
The semi-truck driver, Lincoln Smith, has a criminal record and allegedly had controlled substances and inhalants in his system at the time of the crash.
The deadly crash is one of the worst in Oregon's recent history.
The criminal investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to State Police.
