Overview

• At around 3 a.m. on Saturday, an SUV driven by Praveen veered off course near the Edulabad viewpoint in Ghatkesar and struck an electric pole and a tree, killing rear-seat passengers Bhargav Yadav (23) and Chethi Varshith (22).
• Police recovered beer bottles at the Vihari Nature’s Nest farmhouse and collected Praveen’s blood sample after officers said he was allegedly intoxicated.
• Front-seat passenger Dinesh (25) and Praveen sustained injuries and are receiving treatment in hospital.
• Authorities have booked Praveen under section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for causing death by negligence.
