Drunk Driver Kills 3, Including Two Toddlers, in Pune Footpath Tragedy
A speeding dumper truck veered off the road in Wagholi, crushing laborers sleeping on a footpath and leaving six others injured.
- The accident occurred around 1 a.m. near Kesnand Phata in Pune's Wagholi area, where 12 people were sleeping on the footpath.
- The deceased include one-year-old Vaibhavi Pawar, two-year-old Vaibhav Pawar, and 22-year-old Vishal Pawar, all part of a laborer family from Amravati.
- Six others, including three critically injured, were hospitalized at Sassoon General Hospital for treatment.
- The driver, identified as Gajanan Totre, 26, was allegedly intoxicated and has been arrested on charges of culpable homicide and negligence.
