• Sharjeel Shahzad received a 15-year, four-month prison term and an 18-year, three-month driving ban at Wolverhampton Crown Court on July 4, 2025.
• On December 14, 2024, Shahzad’s stolen Porsche Cayenne struck a family’s Toyota on Dartmouth Road in Smethwick, killing two-year-old Shehbaz Singh.
• Shehbaz’s mother, Kushpreet Kaur, remains unconscious in hospital with life-changing brain and bodily injuries more than six months after the collision.
• Police arrested Shahzad two days after the crash when forensic teams matched eight fingerprints on false plates and his DNA on the vehicle’s airbag.
• His prior offences include a June 2024 high-speed chase on the M42 in a stolen Audi that saw him reach almost 150 mph before a six-month driving ban was imposed in October 2024.
