Driver Who Fled Memorial Village Officers Twice Dies in Westheimer Road Crash

  • The driver collided with two vehicles near S. Gessner before crashing into a white Crown Victoria at Fondren and Westheimer, and his vehicle caught fire.
  • The fleeing driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while occupants of the impacted vehicles suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
  • The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office is examining the charred remains to confirm the driver’s identity, and HPD is analyzing video, photographs and measurements to reconstruct the crash.
