Overview
- The collision occurred around 2 a.m. on July 19 when a vehicle mounted the curb outside a nightclub entrance on West Santa Monica Boulevard in East Hollywood.
- The Los Angeles Fire Department deployed over 100 personnel to set up a triage zone and transport 28 victims—three in critical condition, six with severe injuries and 19 with minor or moderate wounds—to nearby hospitals.
- Most of those struck were women standing in line and, while no fatalities have been reported, several victims remain in critical condition.
- Bystanders pulled the driver from the vehicle and one witness fired a shot before police took him into custody; the suspect has been identified by the LAPD as Fernando Ramírez.
