Overview

  • On June 14, a Tata Campion tempo struck a black Hero Passion Pro motorcycle near Factory No. C-81 on the Connecting Road in Sector-3 of the Bawana Industrial Area, killing three riders and critically injuring a fourth.
  • The deceased—factory workers Bijay (38), Ramakhant (30) and Nandu Kumar (23)—were pronounced dead at Maharishi Valmiki Hospital in Pooth Khurd while 19-year-old Rajaram Namlesh was referred to a higher medical facility for specialised care.
  • The tempo driver abandoned the vehicle at the scene and remains at large as police intensify efforts to apprehend the absconding suspect.
  • Investigators have seized both vehicles, registered an FIR under Sections 281 and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and are examining CCTV footage, witness accounts and postmortem reports to piece together the crash.
  • Local residents have called for stricter traffic enforcement in Bawana’s industrial zone after the accident unsettled the community of workers and neighbours.
