Overview

• The Metropolitan Police named Marcus Fakana, 19, as the passenger who died after a collision on The Roundway in Tottenham in the early hours of Friday.
• Officers attempted to stop a vehicle of interest on Pretoria Road at 00:52, pursued it for about 60 seconds, lost sight of it, then found it had crashed with another car.
• The driver, Marwaan Mohamed Huseen, 19, of Argyle Road, Tottenham, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving without a licence, and failing to stop.
• Huseen was arrested near the scene and is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
• Fakana had returned to the UK in July after a royal/Eid pardon ended his UAE jail term over a consensual relationship with a 17-year-old under Dubai law, according to campaigners and prior reporting.
