Overview

• The crash occurred at 1:20 p.m. on June 10, 2025, when a Chevrolet HHR pulled into the path of a Nissan Altima near Conley and Arthur Mull roads outside Morganton.
• The Nissan veered off the road into a front-yard lemonade stand where three girls aged 7, 8 and 9 were working, critically injuring all three.
• Haley Erin McCorkle, 24, of Hickory, was charged on June 11 with failure to yield right of way causing serious bodily injury.
• No one else was hurt and state troopers closed the road for about two hours while investigating.
