Driver Arrested After Vehicle Crashes Into White House Gate

The incident occurred while President Biden was out of town; Secret Service is investigating the cause and manner of the collision.

An unidentified driver crashed a vehicle into an exterior gate of the White House complex on Monday evening, leading to the arrest of the driver.
The incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. at 15th Street and Pennsylvania NW, along the east side of the White House.
President Joe Biden was not at the White House at the time of the incident as he was traveling from South Carolina to Texas.
The Secret Service is investigating the cause and manner of the collision.
The vehicle was cleared from the scene about 90 minutes later, and traffic closures at 15th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue were lifted.
