Officials frame the strike as part of a push to dismantle Naxal infrastructure before a March 2026 target for ending the insurgent threat.

Overview

  • A District Reserve Guard team raided a concealed facility in the Gomguda forest of Sukma on Monday, recovering 17 firearms including a barrel grenade rocket launcher, six BGLs, six 12-bore rifles, three single-shot rifles, and a country-made pistol.
  • Security forces also seized rifle barrels, a large hand-drill, 17 bench vises, BGL components, electric wire, iron pipes, and other materials used to manufacture weapons.
  • Police said the makeshift workshop was destroyed on site after the seizure.
