Overview
- The Residenzschloss, destroyed in 1945, has been under reconstruction since 1985, with a total investment of €407 million by federal and state budgets.
- The project is in its final phase, with the Schlosskapelle being converted into a 270-seat music venue, set to host performances starting October 2025.
- The Propositions and Great Ball Saloons, restored to their 19th-century design since January 2023, will open as Rüstkammer exhibition spaces in early 2026.
- The Great Courtyard is scheduled for completion in 2026, followed by the final restoration of the East Wing as the last major milestone before the 2027 project wrap-up.
