Overview

  • The five-ton, 85 m² scoreboard was officially commissioned on July 15 after passing structural and technical acceptance tests.
  • The City of Dresden invested an additional €250,000 for the display, which carries a four-year warranty and uses special LEDs for up to 65 percent energy savings and UV-resistant plastics rated for 12 years of sun exposure.
  • Organizers have staged at least two rented LED screens and six container-based sanitary facilities to meet spectator needs during the upcoming Finals.
  • A final live stress test of the stadium’s new facilities is scheduled for the Dresden Monarchs home game on July 26.
  • The multi-championship Finals will host 20 German athletics titles at the €58 million-renovated arena, correcting the original omission of any main scoreboard.
