Dresden Tram Hits Wild Boar Near Gorbitz Depot Before Dawn

Emergency crews cleared the track by having the driver inch forward, avoiding a tram lift.

  • One wild boar died at the scene while two others crossed the tracks and got away.
  • No passengers were on board at the time and no human injuries were reported, according to police and fire officials.
  • Firefighters initially considered lifting the approximately 55.4-ton tram but the vehicle moved a few meters, freeing the carcass for removal.
