Dresden Police Investigate New House Break-In and Car Theft Wave

Investigators are reviewing possible links to October cases.

Overview

  • On Thursday evening, intruders forced a terrace door at a single-family home on Straße am Roßthaler Bach in Naußlitz, searched rooms, and fled as residents returned, with what was stolen still unclear.
  • A separate attempt on Darmstädter Straße was interrupted by returning occupants, leaving about €500 in property damage.
  • From Thursday evening to Saturday morning, at least four vehicles were broken into in Striesen, Johannstadt, Mickten (Flutrinne), and Leuben.
  • Reported thefts included electronics and sports gear worth about €2,500 from an Audi, a €300 control unit from a Skoda, tools worth about €5,000 from a Sprinter, and an empty backpack valued at roughly €30 from a VW Golf, with vehicle damage totaling about €2,300.
  • Police have opened investigations, are assessing whether the cases are connected to each other and to late-October burglaries, and have urged residents to remain vigilant.
