Overview

  • The 28 systems are allocated across the Army (14), Navy (8) and Air Force (6) for immediate ordering.
  • Offerings span air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles, rockets, laser-guided bombs, torpedoes and anti-drone munitions.
  • Emergency procurement rules allow purchases of up to Rs 300 crore per item over the next six to twelve months.
  • DRDO supplied a roster of private and public sector vendors, including Solar Defence and Bharat Dynamics Limited, to streamline sourcing.
  • The move follows the proven battlefield performance of BrahMos cruise missiles, MRSAM and Akash systems in ongoing Operation Sindoor.
