DRDO Hands Over 12 Technology Transfer Agreements to Industry at Samanvay 2025

The move anchors DRDO’s drive to scale indigenous manufacturing under the Make in India vision.

Overview

  • Licensing agreements cover eight systems spanning an electronic warfare suite, NATSAT handheld and mini satcom terminals, Sarang ESM, DOLPHIN-II, laser beam rider guidance with an eye-safe rangefinder, an athermal laser target designator, laser photoacoustic spectroscopy, and an M-type dispenser cathode.
  • Bharat Electronics Ltd receives multiple technologies across its Bengaluru, Panchkula and Pune units, while Bharat Dynamics Ltd shares the laser beam rider guidance system with BEL’s Pune unit.
  • Additional recipients include DH Limited, Enertech Engineering, Beam Infotech and Nibe for laser photoacoustic spectroscopy, and Panacea Medical Technologies for the M-type dispenser cathode.
  • The handover occurred during the inaugural session of the two-day Samanvay 2025 meet in Bengaluru, which drew more than 150 industry participants including MSMEs and start-ups.
  • DRDO Chairman Samir V Kamat highlighted industry partnership for indigenised solutions, and DRDO has instituted Industry Interaction Groups across its labs and headquarters to streamline engagement.
