Overview
- Two consecutive User Evaluation Trials on July 28 and 29 at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island confirmed the Pralay missile’s maximum and minimum range capabilities.
- Both launches followed their intended quasi-ballistic trajectories and hit designated targets with pinpoint accuracy, meeting all test objectives.
- Integrated Test Range sensors and ship-based instruments verified reliable performance of guidance, navigation and other critical subsystems.
- Pralay is an indigenously developed solid-propellant tactical missile designed by DRDO’s Research Centre Imarat and equipped to carry multiple types of warheads.
- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and DRDO Chairman Samir V. Kamat praised the trials and said they clear the way for the missile’s upcoming induction into the armed forces.
